Broken Dreams
I had a dream, a vision grand,
A life of joy, a promised land,
But fate had other plans in store,
And shattered all I hoped for.
I stumbled through the dark and gloom,
In search of light to end my doom,
But all I found were broken dreams,
And endless tears and silent screams.
The world around me seemed to fade,
As I battled through the endless shade,
And every step was one too far,
As I fought against the pain and scar.
The days turned into endless nights,
As I fought to keep my spirit bright,
But every dawn brought fresh despair,
As I struggled through the world unfair.
And now I stand, a broken soul,
With shattered dreams that took their toll,
And though I try to move ahead,
The past keeps holding me instead.
So here I am, lost in my pain,
With nothing left to lose or gain,
And though I long for joy and peace,
All I find is endless grief.
