I have read an interesting tip about how a father uses psychology to ensure his child always maintains their 5 daily prayers.

The story goes like this:

I learned this knowledge when I was 6 years old. My father ordered me to pray if I wanted to become a human. His approach was to use matchsticks. 17 matchsticks were equal to 17 units of prayer (rakaat).

The method is as shown in the picture below:

1. If you don't pray the Subuh (dawn) prayer, discard 2 matchsticks from your head. My father said that if I don't pray Subuh, I will walk without a head.

2. If you don't pray the Zohor (noon) prayer, discard 4 matchsticks from your arms, as if I'm walking without hands.

3. If you don't pray the Asar (afternoon) prayer, discard 4 matchsticks from your chest. My father said that if I don't pray Asar, I will walk without a chest.

4. If you don't pray the Maghrib (sunset) prayer, discard 3 matchsticks from your stomach. So, I will walk without a stomach, like a ghost.

5. If you don't pray the Isyak (night) prayer, discard 4 matchsticks from your legs. I will walk without legs, like a disabled person.

In conclusion,

My father said that if I don't pray continuously, then I'm no longer human. I will not be complete if I don't establish the prayers.

For example, with Maghrib and Subuh, it's as if I'm walking without a head and without a stomach. People who see me will run away. So, reflect on the fact that if our prayers are not perfect, then we are imperfect.

May Allah give guidance, may Allah be pleased.
