Az-Zumar 9, also known as Surah 39:9, is a verse from the Quran that says:

"Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, 'Are those who know equal to those who do not know?' Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding."

This verse emphasizes the importance of obedience, prayer, and striving for understanding and knowledge in the Islamic faith.

Various verses in the Quran reinforce these themes.

1. Quran 51:56 "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me."

This reinforces the theme of obedience and worship mentioned in Az-Zumar 9.

2. Quran 2:3-4 "Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, and who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain."

This emphasizes the importance of belief, prayer, and understanding the revelation of God in obtaining His mercy as mentioned in Az-Zumar 9.

3. Quran 13:11 "For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah.”

This illustrates God's promise of protection to those who are obedient and devoted to Him.

4. Quran 35:28 "And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving."

This connects with the latter part of Az-Zumar 9 about the difference between those who know and those who do not know, emphasizing the value of knowledge in the eyes of God.

5. Quran 2:286 "Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear..."

This provides reassurance that the obligations outlined in Az-Zumar 9 are within an individual's capacity to fulfill.

Each of these verses can help explain Az-Zumar 9, further elucidating its themes of obedience, worship, knowledge, and seeking God's mercy.
