The evolution of the web

The next evolution of the web will be web3.0

The original World Wide Web that was first created in the early 1990 was effectively web1.0, the first version. Web1.0 most contents were static and most people were consumers of existing content and there was very low communication between people and the website they use. Web1.0 era was roughly between 1991–2004.

Web2.0 is the social web came about thanks to the emergence tools and platform making it easy for people to create & publish their own content on web and to have ongoing interaction with other people through the web. The web went from being information resource to communication platform. This includes the social media platforms we have today, we are still very much in the web2 era but gradually moving into web3.

The next evolution of the web will be the web3.0. The question is, what will that evolution be? The inventor of the World Wide Web suggested that the next evolution of the web will be a semantic web where all data is machine readable and can be passed by machine learning algorithms and Ai through unified api. Others suggested it will be a special web where we move from interacting with the web on rectangular screens to having the web embedded in the environment around us. Others suggested it would be the metaverse which is defined as an alternate reality built in cyberspace but we are represented by avatars and interact with one another through VR and AR google.
